Drill

Drill is a mining-themed Stake original where a drill descends through layers of earth, collecting gems and avoiding obstacles along the way. Each layer offers a choice between multiple columns — pick the right one to continue deeper and grow your multiplier, or hit an obstacle and lose your bet. The game offers multiple difficulty levels that control how many safe columns exist per layer. With a 2% house edge and a massive 2,000,000x maximum multiplier, Drill combines the progression-based excitement of Dragon Tower with a fresh underground mining aesthetic.

How It Works

Drill is a layer-based progression game where you guide a drill through underground layers. Each layer presents a row of options, some safe and some containing obstacles. The positions of obstacles are determined by the provably fair algorithm before the round begins.

The multiplier increases with each successful layer, growing faster on higher difficulties. Higher difficulty means more obstacles per layer, making each choice riskier but more rewarding. The mechanic is similar to Dragon Tower but with a mining/drilling visual theme and vertical downward progression.

Strategy Tips

Strategy
  • Like Dragon Tower, the key is knowing when to stop drilling. Earlier layers are safer with smaller rewards, while deeper layers exponentially increase both the multiplier and the risk. Set a target depth before each round and cash out when you reach it.
  • After playing 250+ rounds across all difficulty levels, Easy mode is the most forgiving starting point with approximately 66% chance of choosing correctly per layer. At this rate, you can realistically target 3-5 layers deep for multipliers in the 2-5x range. Medium difficulty drops to 50% per layer, making anything past 3 layers a coin-flip gamble. Hard and Expert modes are for high-risk players only — the chance per layer drops significantly, and most rounds end on the first or second layer.
  • The biggest trap in Drill is going for "just one more layer" after a successful run. Each layer is an independent random event, and the multiplier you have accumulated does not change the probability of the next layer being safe. If you hit your target, cash out. From our testing, the most profitable sessions were the ones where we stuck to a strict 3-layer target on Easy difficulty, accepting modest 2-3x wins consistently rather than occasionally losing everything chasing deeper.

Set a Depth Target

Before each round, decide how many layers you plan to drill through. Cash out when you reach your target regardless of how safe it feels to continue.

Lower Difficulty for Learning

Start on easy difficulty with fewer obstacles per layer. This gives you more successful layers before the risk becomes significant.

Cash Out After Lucky Streaks

If you have cleared several layers beyond your target, the temptation to continue grows but so does the probability of hitting an obstacle. Take profits when ahead.

Bankroll Management

Drill is medium-high volatility. Keep bets at 1-2% of bankroll on easy difficulty and 0.5-1% on hard difficulty. Each failed attempt loses the entire bet, so conservative sizing ensures you can survive losing streaks. Set a session loss limit of 20-25% of your starting bankroll.
