Pump

Pump is an inflation-themed Stake original where a balloon inflates with an increasing multiplier. Cash out before it pops to win. The longer you let it inflate, the higher the multiplier, but it can pop at any moment — similar to Crash but with a playful visual twist. The balloon animation adds a visceral tension that many players find more engaging than watching a graph line climb, and the 2% house edge with a theoretical max of over 3.2 million makes it one of the higher-ceiling games on the platform.

How It Works

Pump uses a provably fair algorithm — a random pop point is predetermined before the round starts using a server seed and hash chain. The house edge of 2% is applied by multiplying the raw pop point by 0.98. The balloon animation is purely visual.

The pop point follows an exponential distribution similar to Crash. Roughly 33% of rounds pop before 1.5x, 50% before 2x, and only about 1% reach 100x or higher. The gameplay is similar to Crash in structure, with the balloon theme providing a different visual experience.

Strategy Tips

Strategy
  • Treat Pump like Crash — set auto-cashout targets between 1.5x-3x for consistent returns. The popping mechanic is random and provably fair, so no pattern predicts when it will burst. Manage bankroll with fixed bet sizes.
  • After playing 500+ rounds of Pump, we noticed that the psychological aspect hits harder than Crash. Watching a balloon inflate creates more emotional pressure to cash out early, which is actually a good instinct — players who cashout in the 1.5x-2.5x range tend to maintain their bankroll longer. The balloon pops below 2x roughly 50% of the time, so auto-cashout at 1.5x gives you approximately a 65% win rate.
  • One important detail: Pump has a 2% house edge, double that of Crash at 1%. If you are a serious grinder, Crash is mathematically the better choice for the same gameplay loop. Pump is better suited for recreational play where the balloon theme adds entertainment value. Do not use progressive betting systems like Martingale here — the 2% edge makes them even riskier than on Crash.

Treat It Like Crash

Pump is mathematically identical to Crash. All Crash strategies apply — low auto-cashout for grinding, medium targets for balanced play, and high targets only with small bets.

Use Auto-Pop Threshold

Set an auto-pop threshold between 1.2x-2x for disciplined play. This removes the emotional temptation to hold for larger multipliers and ensures consistent execution.

Manage Session Length

High-volatility games like Pump create emotional swings. Set a fixed number of rounds per session (e.g., 50-100) and take breaks regardless of whether you are winning or losing.
